Phone calls fight cancer: remote monitoring helps patients stick with treatment

NCT ID NCT03336138

Summary

This study tested whether using phone and video calls (telemedicine) to monitor patients during chemotherapy for aggressive lymphoma helps them better tolerate their full treatment doses. It involved 350 patients across 10 hospitals, comparing those receiving standard in-person checkups to those getting extra remote support. The goal was to see if better support leads to patients receiving more of their planned chemotherapy, which could help keep the cancer in remission longer.
