New telehealth program aims to solve bowel accidents in autistic kids
NCT ID NCT07226739
Summary
This study is testing a telehealth program to help autistic children who have gained bladder control but still struggle with bowel accidents (encopresis). Children ages 5-12 will first complete standard toilet training for wetting. Those who still have bowel accidents will then be randomly assigned to receive either the new telehealth coaching program for parents or a general parent education program. The goal is to see if the specific coaching helps children achieve better bowel control and reduces stress for caregivers.
