Summary
This study tested whether using video calls to connect emergency room patients at risk for suicide with mental health specialists could improve their care. It involved over 32,000 adults in Massachusetts emergency rooms. The goal was to see if this approach provided better, faster access to expert help and could safely reduce unnecessary psychiatric hospitalizations.
