New painkiller may reduce nausea after hysterectomy

NCT ID NCT07326683

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a new painkiller called tegileridine against the standard drug oxycodone in 68 women recovering from laparoscopic hysterectomy. The main goal was to see which drug caused less nausea and vomiting after surgery. Both drugs were given through an IV, and patients could get extra pain relief if needed. The results could help doctors choose a better option for postoperative pain control.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Tegileridine (a new painkiller) and oxycodone (a standard painkiller)

What this could lead to

If tegileridine works better with fewer side effects like nausea, it could offer a new option for managing pain after surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, single-center study with only 68 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and tegileridine is still new with unknown long-term risks.
