First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at whether patients with very low white blood cell counts (aplasia) after strong chemotherapy can safely brush their teeth instead of just using mouthwash. 76 patients in a protected hospital unit were observed to see if brushing caused bleeding or infections. The goal was to improve comfort and well-being without increasing risks.
