New therapy aims to break the link between teen trauma and addiction
NCT ID NCT05384223
Summary
This study is testing a therapy that treats PTSD and substance use problems together in teenagers, instead of separately as is usually done. It compares a new family-based therapy to standard treatment to see which works better at reducing substance use and PTSD symptoms over a year. The research also looks at the costs and practical challenges of offering this combined approach in real-world clinics.
