Can a quick chat curb teen drinking and drug use?

NCT ID NCT06699251

Summary

This study is testing whether a brief, supportive counseling session (called 'Chat') is better than standard educational information at helping teens reduce risky alcohol or cannabis use. It will enroll about 500 teens, aged 12 to 17, who screen as being at risk. Researchers will compare how often teens use these substances and the related problems they experience over a year.
