Can a quick chat curb teen drinking and drug use?
NCT ID NCT06699251
Summary
This study is testing whether a brief, motivational counseling chat is more effective than standard educational information at helping teens reduce risky alcohol and cannabis use. It will enroll about 500 teens, aged 12-17, who screen as at-risk at partner clinics. Researchers will compare the chat intervention to standard care and track changes in substance use and related consequences over a year.
