Summary
This study tested the safety and effectiveness of the drug tecovirimat for treating mpox (formerly monkeypox) in 328 adults and children. Participants received either tecovirimat or a placebo, and researchers measured how quickly their skin lesions healed. The trial also tracked the natural course of the disease to better understand mpox.
