First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This early study tests a medicated mist (tranexamic acid) sprayed into the mouth to stop bleeding after tonsil removal in children. The goal is to see if the mist can control bleeding without needing another surgery or blood transfusion. About 12 children aged 2 to 17 who have bleeding after tonsillectomy will try the mist, and researchers will check how well it works and how much medicine gets into the body.
