Teachers become therapists: new program aims to heal Kids' minds in remote classrooms
NCT ID NCT05179759
Summary
This study is testing whether teachers in rural Indian primary schools can be trained to provide mental health support to children showing signs of behavioral or emotional difficulties. Over 20,000 participants across 90 schools will be involved, with some schools receiving special teacher training and others continuing with usual care for comparison. The goal is to see if this teacher-led approach can improve children's mental wellbeing, school performance, and attendance in areas with very limited access to professional mental healthcare.
