Brain zapping shows promise for veterans with old head injuries

NCT ID NCT02849223

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS can improve memory and daily living skills in veterans who had a mild traumatic brain injury more than a year ago. About 41 participants will receive either real tDCS or a sham (fake) version while doing memory training. The goal is to see if the stimulation boosts cognitive function and to find brain signals that predict who benefits most.
