German hospitals test ancient healing methods on modern patients

NCT ID NCT07040475

Summary

This study is observing 2500 patients with chronic diseases who are receiving inpatient treatment that combines traditional and complementary medicine (TCIM) approaches at three German hospitals. The goal is to measure how these treatments—which include heat therapy, exercise, mind-body practices, herbal medicine, and dietary changes—affect patients' symptoms, quality of life, and overall health. Researchers will collect survey data and medical measurements but are not testing a new cure; they are evaluating the effects of existing TCIM care that is already covered by German health insurance.
