Could a safer scan spot hidden heart disease?

NCT ID NCT07159074

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special imaging agent called Tc 99m Tilmanocept can find inflammation in the heart caused by sarcoidosis. About 15 adults with sarcoidosis will receive the agent and have a SPECT/CT scan, and the results will be compared to standard PET and MRI scans. If successful, this could provide a safer and more accessible way to diagnose cardiac sarcoidosis.
