First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study will test a new rapid test called PATHFAST TB LAM to see if it can help monitor treatment for tuberculosis (TB). Researchers will follow 300 adults in Nairobi, Kenya, during their 6-month TB treatment, collecting sputum and urine samples at regular visits. The goal is to see if changes in a TB bacterial substance called LAM can predict whether treatment is working or if a patient is at risk of a poor outcome. If successful, this test could provide a faster, simpler way to monitor TB treatment in resource-limited settings.
