Ear zap boosts stroke arm recovery in new trial

NCT ID NCT07132021

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests if a mild electrical pulse to the ear (called taVNS) can improve arm and hand movement in people who had a stroke. Thirty adults with arm weakness from a stroke will get either real taVNS or a fake version during daily physical therapy for two weeks. Researchers will measure changes in motor function and daily activities to see if this simple add-on treatment helps recovery.
