Double-Tap technique tested to make heart valve replacements work better

NCT ID NCT07430267

Summary

This study aims to find out if performing a second, routine balloon inflation after placing a new heart valve during a TAVI procedure leads to better valve expansion and performance. It will involve 250 adults with severe aortic stenosis who are getting a specific type of balloon-expandable valve. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive the standard procedure or the standard procedure plus this extra 'double tap' inflation.
