Heart valve showdown: study tests simpler, newer implants

NCT ID NCT05036018

Summary

This study aims to see if two newer types of self-expanding heart valves work as well as each other, and if a simpler, 'minimalist' procedure is as safe and effective as the standard approach. It involves 836 adults with severe, symptomatic aortic valve stenosis who need a valve replacement via a catheter in the leg. The main goal is to check patient safety and valve performance 30 days after the procedure.
