New heart valve study aims for safer, simpler aortic stenosis treatment
NCT ID NCT05036018
First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study compares two newer types of self-expanding heart valves and a simpler, less invasive procedure (minimalist approach) against standard care for people with severe aortic valve stenosis. About 836 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a newer valve or a standard one, and either a minimalist or standard procedure. The goal is to see if these newer options reduce the risk of death, stroke, and other complications within 30 days after the procedure.
