New study seeks best pain relief for heart valve patients

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks (PENG block and fascia iliaca block) to standard local anesthesia for pain control during TAVI, a minimally invasive heart valve replacement. About 60 adults aged 18-85 scheduled for TAVI will be randomly assigned to one of three groups. The goal is to see which method reduces the need for sedation and improves pain scores after surgery.
