First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether fixing a tight heart valve with a procedure called TAVI can reverse damage to the heart muscle. Researchers will use a special PET scan to measure scarring in the heart before and 6 months after TAVI in 25 patients. A control group of patients who do not get the procedure will also be scanned for comparison.
