Ear stimulation trial aims to speed brain injury recovery, cut ICU costs

Summary
This study is testing if a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation of a nerve in the ear can help patients recover faster in the neurological intensive care unit (NeuroICU). It will involve 160 adults with serious brain or spinal cord injuries. Researchers will compare real stimulation to a sham (fake) treatment to see if it reduces infections, shortens hospital stays, lowers costs, and improves patient outcomes.
