NCT ID NCT05641688
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests a new PET scan tracer, [18F]PI-2620, to see if it can accurately detect tau protein buildup in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease. About 200 adults aged 50 and older with a life expectancy of one year or less will receive the scan during life, and results will be compared to brain tissue analysis after death. The goal is to improve diagnosis of Alzheimer's without needing an autopsy.
