Could cherry juice calm Post-Surgery hearts?
NCT ID NCT03793465
Summary
This study is testing whether a tart cherry concentrate drink can help prevent irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation) that sometimes occur after heart surgery. It will involve 50 patients aged 50-79 who are having elective mitral valve repair surgery. Researchers will measure how well patients tolerate the drink, track hospital stays and complications, and check for changes in heart tissue related to inflammation.
