Precision radiation zaps tumors in advanced lung cancer trial
NCT ID NCT02314364
Summary
This study tested whether adding a precise form of radiation therapy to standard targeted drug treatment could better control advanced lung cancer. It involved 27 people with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer driven by specific gene mutations who were already responding to their targeted medications. Researchers used highly focused radiation to treat remaining tumors while patients continued their drug therapy, aiming to delay cancer progression.
