Study tests if kids with arthritis can stop strong meds

NCT ID NCT02840175

Summary

This study tested whether children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) whose disease was well-controlled could safely have their biologic medication slowly reduced and stopped. Researchers compared children who gradually reduced their medication to those who kept taking the same dose, to see if stopping treatment was safe and did not cause the disease to flare up. They also looked at whether reducing medication improved quality of life and saved money.
