Common prostate Drug's hidden risk for kidney patients revealed
NCT ID NCT07274228
Summary
This study looked at whether a higher dose of the prostate medication tamsulosin is riskier than a lower dose for older adults with advanced kidney disease. Researchers analyzed health records of 14,000 men in Ontario, Canada, comparing those who started on a high dose versus a standard dose. They checked if the higher dose was linked to a greater chance of being hospitalized, visiting the emergency room, or dying within 90 days.
