First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether tamsulosin (Flomax) can reduce the chance of urinary retention and urinary tract infections in men aged 50 and older after elective surgery with a catheter. About 87 men participated, and researchers tracked how many could urinate normally within 8 hours after catheter removal. The goal was to see if this medication helps prevent common post-surgery complications.
