New therapy aims to ease Veterans' pain by tackling trauma

NCT ID NCT07218757

Summary

This study is testing if a type of talk therapy can help veterans manage long-term pain. The therapy, called Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), helps people understand and express emotions linked to past trauma, which may reduce pain. Researchers are training therapists at up to 7 VA hospitals to use EAET in real-world clinics and will ask 84 veterans for feedback on how well it works.
