New drug combo shows promise for tough lung cancer

NCT ID NCT03672773

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a combination of two drugs, talazoparib and temozolomide, in 35 people with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer that came back after initial chemotherapy. Talazoparib blocks cancer cells from repairing their DNA, while temozolomide is a chemotherapy that kills cancer cells. The goal is to see if this combination works better than either drug alone in shrinking tumors and controlling the disease.
