Herbal COVID-19 treatment trial pulled before it began
NCT ID NCT05552625
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study planned to test TADIOS, a blend of three herbs used in traditional Asian medicine, as an add-on treatment for adults hospitalized with mild to moderate COVID-19. Participants would have received TADIOS or a placebo for up to 10 days. The goal was to see if TADIOS could improve recovery and reduce inflammation. However, the trial was withdrawn before enrolling anyone, so no results are available.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TADIOS (a combination of three herbs traditionally used for respiratory issues in Asia)
What this could lead to
If it had worked, TADIOS might have helped reduce inflammation and speed recovery from mild to moderate COVID-19.
What could go wrong
The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no data on safety or effectiveness exist. Herbal supplements can vary in quality and may interact with other medications.
