First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle brain stimulation technique (tACS) combined with speech training can improve the ability to repeat words in people who have trouble speaking after a stroke. Twenty-eight adults with aphasia received either real or fake stimulation for 20 minutes each day over 10 days. Researchers measured language skills and brain activity before and after treatment to see if the real stimulation led to better results.
