NCT ID NCT07185464

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This small pilot study tests whether a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tACS can safely reduce depression symptoms in 30 adolescents (ages 12-18) who are experiencing their first depressive episode and have never taken antidepressants. Researchers will measure changes in mood and anxiety using standard questionnaires, and monitor for side effects. The goal is to see if tACS can offer a drug-free option for teens with depression.
