Screen time beats sedative for calming kids before surgery?
NCT ID NCT02192710
Summary
This study compared two ways to reduce anxiety in children before outpatient surgery. Researchers tested whether playing with an interactive electronic tablet was as effective as taking a sedative medication (midazolam). The trial involved 118 children aged 4 to 10 years, measuring anxiety levels at key points before and after their procedure.
