NCT ID NCT04115514
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a thyroid hormone (T3) directly into the lungs can safely improve oxygen levels and reduce inflammation in people with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). About 68 adults on ventilators will either receive the hormone or standard care. The goal is to see if T3 helps clear fluid from the lungs and improves breathing.
