Lab-Grown immune cells deployed to fight viruses in vulnerable transplant patients

NCT ID NCT03180216

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a special immune cell therapy for people who have had a stem cell transplant. The therapy uses T-cells from the transplant donor that are grown in a lab to fight seven different viruses that can cause dangerous infections after transplant. The study will give these cells to 32 patients either to prevent infections or to treat active infections that haven't responded to standard drugs.
