First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving special immune cells (T cells) that target CMV or adenovirus could help control these infections in people who had a stem cell transplant. Sixteen children and adults with persistent or drug-resistant infections received the cells. The main goal was to see if the treatment could lower virus levels in the blood within three weeks.
