First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether injecting tiny particles from stem cells into the spinal fluid can safely help people with syringomyelia, a condition where fluid-filled cavities form in the spinal cord. The trial includes 18 adults whose spinal cord symptoms have not improved after surgery or natural shrinkage of the cavity. The main goal is to check for side effects, and researchers will also look for signs of symptom relief.
