HIV patients test two syphilis treatments to find most effective option
NCT ID NCT06069141
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a second antibiotic (doxycycline) to the standard syphilis treatment works better for people living with HIV. Researchers will compare the standard single-shot penicillin treatment against the same shot plus a week of doxycycline pills. They're looking at 688 adults with both HIV and early syphilis to see which treatment better controls the syphilis infection over 48 weeks.
