First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether two medications, zonisamide and bupropion, can help smokers switch completely to using an e-cigarette (JUUL) instead of regular cigarettes. 180 adult smokers who wanted to switch took part. They all received a JUUL and were randomly assigned to get either both medications, bupropion alone, or placebos for 7 weeks. The main goal was to see if they could stop smoking regular cigarettes entirely by the end of treatment.
