Once-Daily pill may simplify transplant drug routine

NCT ID NCT02882828

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at kidney and liver transplant patients to see if switching from a twice-daily tacrolimus (Prograf) to a once-daily version (Envarsus) keeps the drug at safe and effective levels in the blood. About 134 adults who had a transplant within the past year took part. Researchers used blood samples and computer models to compare drug exposure before and after the switch, aiming to make dosing simpler without changing outcomes.
