Do sugar substitutes mess with your gut and blood sugar?
NCT ID NCT07124585
Summary
This study aims to understand how short-term use of two common artificial sweeteners (sucralose and saccharin) affects blood sugar control and gut bacteria in men with Type 2 Diabetes. Thirty-three participants will take capsules containing each sweetener or a placebo for one week at a time, with breaks in between. Researchers will measure blood sugar markers and analyze stool samples to see if the sweeteners cause any changes.
