Could your sweetener be spiking your sugar? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT05441982
Summary
This study aims to find out if consuming two common artificial sweeteners, saccharin and acesulfame potassium, affects blood sugar control in older adults who have prediabetes. Researchers will feed 30 participants carefully controlled diets for 8 weeks, with some receiving the sweeteners and others not, while monitoring their blood sugar and inflammation levels. The goal is to gather clearer evidence to help inform dietary guidelines for diabetes prevention.
