Sweden tracks 7,500 COVID ICU survivors for Long-Term health risks

NCT ID NCT04462393

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term health of people who were critically ill with COVID-19 and needed intensive care in Sweden. Researchers are tracking the survival and new heart or lung problems in over 7,500 patients for up to a year after their ICU stay. They are also comparing these patients to others who were in the ICU for similar severe viral lung infections before the pandemic to see if COVID-19 leads to different long-term outcomes.
