Patch tested to help cancer patients speak and swallow after surgery

NCT ID NCT07337122

Summary

This study looked at whether using a collagen patch during surgery for oral or throat cancer helps patients recover their ability to swallow and speak. 33 patients answered questionnaires about their swallowing and voice before surgery, and again at 1 and 6 months after. The goal was to see if this patch could improve quality of life by reducing these common side effects of cancer surgery.
