Sticky patches reveal swallowing secrets in EoE patients

NCT ID NCT07156357

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study uses a surface electromyography (EMG) machine—like sticky patches on the neck—to measure how people with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) swallow food. Researchers will compare the timing of swallowing preparation and initiation between EoE patients and healthy controls. The goal is to better understand swallowing difficulties in EoE, not to provide a treatment.
