Pilot study tests best ventilation strategy for severe breathing trouble

Summary

This study looks at two ways of using a breathing machine in ICU patients with dangerously low oxygen levels. The goal is to see if it's possible to run a larger trial comparing letting patients breathe on their own versus fully controlling their breathing. About 80 adults will take part to help design a future study.
