First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at two different ways of using a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation) in patients with severe lung failure (ARDS). The goal is to see if it's possible to run a larger study comparing letting the patient breathe on their own versus fully controlling their breathing. About 80 adults in the ICU will take part, and the main focus is on how many patients can be enrolled and how well the study procedures work.
