Can a sleep pill sharpen your mind and mood the next day?

NCT ID NCT05908526

Summary

This study tested whether suvorexant, an FDA-approved sleep medication, improves daytime symptoms like fatigue, mood, and thinking in older adults with chronic insomnia. Forty participants were randomly assigned to receive either the medication or a placebo pill for about two weeks. Researchers used smartphone surveys, wrist-worn activity trackers, and cognitive tests to measure changes in how people felt and functioned during the day.
