Stitch showdown: which closing method heals appendix scars better?
NCT ID NCT07274878
Summary
This study compares two different ways to close the skin after open appendix surgery. Researchers want to see if using hidden stitches plus a small drain leads to fewer wound infections and better healing than traditional visible stitches. They'll measure infection rates, pain levels, and how the scar looks in 100 patients having this common emergency surgery.
